Task
Sinara Development restored the ensemble of buildings of the Verkh-Isetsky Plant hospital, an architectural monument from the first half of the 19th century.

The four renovated buildings now house the Sinara Centre cultural and exhibition complex. The client approached us when the finishing work was underway at the site.

Our team was tasked with designing a logo for the new cultural centre and creating external and internal wayfinding system that would fit organically into the historical context.
Solution
To maintain the early 19th-century atmosphere, we used brass tones in the design concept. The Sinara Centre logo is understated: a stylised ‘C’ and the name of the cultural and exhibition complex.

At the main entrance, an orientation panel/totem welcomes visitors with information about the history of the architectural monument and a map of the main facilities. An identical totem is placed at the entrance to the public garden, so that those arriving from Kommunárov Square can learn about the city's new cultural landmark.
For signage and information panels, we chose a serif typeface with a modern cut and historical background. The traditional arrow indicating direction was replaced by an angle, which visually unifies the text into a single block.

To distinguish languages, we used roman and italic fonts from the same typeface family.
Directional signposts were installed on the premises to provide guidance on the location of the buildings; their bases, inspired by street lamps, reinforce the historical context. At the entrances to the buildings, we placed facade plaques in a common style.
The indoor signage was carefully integrated into the interiors, with specific solutions for each surface. We developed a complete range of supports: signs, totems/lecterns, plaques and pictograms to identify technical rooms.
The agency team carried out the entire cycle of work on site: from conceptualisation and design to the manufacture and installation of the structures.
